Are customer data used to train AI models?

Written by amaise Support

Are customer data used to train AI models?

Basically no. Customer data are never used by default — neither directly nor indirectly — to train, fine-tune, retrain, or improve AI/ML models. This applies both to amaise and all subprocessors:

  • Azure OpenAI (Microsoft): Contractually prohibited from using customer data for model training or improvement — regulated in the Microsoft Online Services DPA.

  • Other AI services: Data submitted for processing are not retained by the providers and not used for training.

  • amaise proprietary models: amaise operates its own specialized models. These are not trained with customer data by default. However, upon explicit customer request and based on an individual agreement, training on a defined customer dataset can be performed — exclusively for the benefit of that customer.

This guarantee is documented in the data processing agreement (DPA) signed with every customer.
