AI assistants: CasePilot

Written by amaise Support

CasePilot is your AI assistant for the entire case. It analyzes all documents and provides you with well-founded answers including source references.

Open CasePilot

You find CasePilot in the tool bar on the right edge of the screen — it gathers the case tools and is available in every view of the case. Click the CasePilot icon to open the chat panel.

💡 Even faster: press G, then C to open CasePilot from the keyboard.

Switch between assistants

To the left of the input field sits a round button showing the active assistant's icon. Hover over it to open the selection:

  • DocPilot — "DocPilot with current document" or "DocPilot with up to 5 documents"

  • CasePilot — questions about the entire case

  • Legal research (gavel icon) — LegalPilot for legal research, as a beta feature

CasePilot and DocPilot also have their own icons in the tool bar; LegalPilot is only reachable through this selection.

Detach panel

Via "Open in separate window" in the panel header you detach the chat into a separate window. This keeps CasePilot open alongside your case view without losing space in the main window. In the separate window the assistant stays fixed — you can only switch in the panel of the case view.

Ask a question

  1. Type your question into the input field ("Ask a question about case")

  2. Press Enter or click send — Shift+Enter inserts a line break

  3. CasePilot analyzes the documents of the case — the answer appears automatically in the chat, even when the analysis takes a moment

The answer includes:

  • Answer text with source references — references to documents appear as links right in the text. A click jumps to the document at the cited passage.

  • Documents chip — below the answer, a chip (e.g. "3 documents") shows the referenced sources. A click filters the document list down to exactly these documents — you recognize the active filter "Documents referenced by CasePilot" above the list.

💡 Below the input field, a notice reminds you that you are speaking with an AI assistant that may make mistakes. Verify important information against the sources.

Suggested follow-up questions

After each answer, CasePilot shows chips with fitting follow-up questions under "Ask further questions" — just click one to ask it directly. "More suggestions" reveals additional ideas. The "Start new conversation" chip begins a fresh conversation.

Example questions

  • "What are the main diagnoses in this case?"

  • "When was the first work impairment certified?"

  • "Summarize the key events"

  • "Which medications were prescribed?"

💡 On CasePilot's start screen, you'll already find prepared question suggestions you can click directly.

Previous conversations

CasePilot remembers the context of your conversation. You can ask follow-up questions without having to explain the context again.

On the start screen, you find your past conversations under "Previous conversations", grouped by date. Click a conversation to reload and continue it; the X shown on hover deletes it. Each assistant keeps its own history — switching to DocPilot, for example, shows its previous conversations.

Customize answers

Right above the input field, the chips "Format", "Adapt for" and "Answer in" set how CasePilot should answer — or you simply phrase it in your question.

Format

Want a short and concise text, something more detailed, or just bullet points? Pick it in the "Format" chip or state it right in your question, e.g. "Summarize the diagnoses in bullet points".

Adapt for

Need the answer for a specific specialist? Pick the role in the "Adapt for" chip or phrase it in your question, e.g. "Explain it for a claims adjuster". CasePilot adjusts language and detail level to the chosen audience.

Language

CasePilot can answer in German, English, French, and Italian. Pick the language in the "Answer in" chip, ask your question in the desired language, or state it explicitly, e.g. "Answer in French".

Draft emails

Want to draft an email that includes all key details of your case? Just ask CasePilot — e.g. "Draft an email summarizing the diagnoses and current work capacity".

Interaction with other features

  • Dashboards use CasePilot in the background to generate their answers. For each dashboard answer you can show the AI log there, documenting sources and reasoning.

  • Case notes are available alongside CasePilot for you to keep your own notes and summaries.
