The case history shows you the documents and events of your case in chronological order — with AI-generated summaries for quick understanding.
Structure of the case history
The case history presents a timeline with all relevant events:
Documents in chronological order — sorted by document date
Documents without date — documents where no date was detected
Summaries — short AI-generated summaries of each document
Work impairment entries — periods of work impairment (AUF)
Navigating the case history
Scroll — scroll through the entry list to follow the case progress; the timeline bar above follows your position automatically (and vice versa)
Arrow keys — move from entry to entry with ↑ and ↓
Change sorting — sort entries ascending or descending by date
Jump to document — click an entry to open the document in the PDF reader
Timeline bar
The timeline bar at the top gives you a visual overview of the entire case period. You can use it to quickly navigate to a specific point in time. Use the timeline icon to show or hide the full timeline with documents and AUF entries.
The timeline has its own navigation gestures (also shown in the app under Timeline navigation gestures):
Scroll horizontally — Shift + scroll, or horizontal scrolling on the trackpad
Zoom — Ctrl + scroll (Windows) or Cmd + scroll (Mac)
Drag vertically — click & drag
Reset zoom — double-click
A plain mouse wheel scrolls the entry list, not the timeline — on a mouse, hold Shift to move along the timeline.
Language of the summaries
You can adjust the language of the summaries:
Original language of the document — summary in the document’s language
Language of the responsible person — automatically translated into your language
Downloading the case history
Use the download function to export the case history. You have two options:
Copy to clipboard — copies the case history directly to your clipboard
Download as DOCX — downloads the case history as a Word document
Filters and sidebars
Open the filter sidebar with the sidebar button in the toolbar above the case history — it is the same sidebar as in the document study. At the top you switch between the Active documents and the Trash, and Reset all clears all active filters at once. Six sections control which entries appear:
Dossiers — filter the case history by dossier structure
Document types — show only specific document types
Annotations — show only documents with your highlights or comments; the section appears once the case contains annotated documents
Labels — filter by manual labels
Date range — restrict the period, based on either the document date or the receipt date
More — additional filters such as authors, new, unread, poor quality, or documents with duplicates
See the article Document study: filter and select documents for details on the individual sections.
Reviewing and editing sources
Each entry in the case history links to the underlying document:
Click an entry to select it and jump directly to the original document
Use the Edit function to manually adjust entries
Work impairment (AUF) in the case history
The case history also shows detected work impairment periods directly in the timeline:
AUF entries — periods of work impairment are displayed as separate entries in the timeline
Periods and degree — you see the period (from–to) and degree of work impairment (e.g., 50%, 100%)
Merged entries — if multiple AUF entries cover the same period, they are merged and displayed together
You can click an AUF entry to navigate to the related document.
💡 For a detailed overview with export function, open the Work impairment overview from the toolbar above the case history.
Removing documents
If a document is not relevant, you can remove it from the case history. The document will be moved to the trash and can be restored from there.
