When you open a case, you see amaise’s central workspace. Here’s a quick overview of the main areas.
The top bar
At the top of the screen, from left to right, you’ll find:
Workspace name — Shows which workspace you are in
Opened case — Name and reference of the currently opened case (see section "View case data" below)
Active view — The view you are currently in (e.g., Dashboards, Case history, Document study). Clicking it takes you back to the start of that view and clears filters, search, and open panels
Search bar — In Document study, search all documents in the case by full-text search (see Document study: full-text search); in Dashboards, it searches your dashboards. Case history has no search bar.
Workspace switch — If you have access to multiple workspaces, switch here; the icon only appears in that case
Help — Opens the help chat, where you can ask questions and search the help articles
Notifications — Shows your unread notifications
Avatar menu — Your user profile with these options:
Personal settings — Adjust personal settings
Display language and theme — switch both directly in the menu
Help — Keyboard shortcuts, Help center, and Open help (support chat)
Logout — Log out of amaise
The left navigation bar
The left navigation bar shows the main views within a case. The active view is highlighted so you always know where you are.
Main views within a case:
Dashboards — Predefined case questions and answers (see Dashboards: overview and navigation)
Case history — Chronological overview of the case (see Case history: overview and navigation)
Document study — Document list and PDF reader (see Document study: document list)
Click an icon to switch views — or press Cmd/Ctrl + ↑ / ↓.
Tools within Document study:
When Document study is open, additional tools that belong only to this view appear beneath the view icons:
Document storage — Document list with filters for dossier, document type, and label
Diagnosis overview — All diagnoses at a glance
Work impairment overview — Overview of work disability periods
Exports — Export and share documents (see Exports: create and share exports)
The tool bar on the right edge
On the right edge of the screen, you’ll find a tool bar with cross-view tools. They are available in every view and open as a panel on the right side — only one panel at a time, and it stays open when you switch views:
CasePilot — AI assistant for case-related questions
DocPilot — AI assistant for document-related questions
Case notes — Your notebooks on the case (see Case notes: Notebook)
Collaboration — Work with external people (see Collaboration: Ask a colleague or external person)
Access management — Manage access to the case
Case data — The case details and the files of the case
Click an icon in the tool bar on the right edge to open the corresponding panel.
View and edit case data
If you hover over or click the case name in the top bar, a panel opens with the case data:
Left: A menu with actions for the case (e.g., Manage files, Edit case data, Archive case)
Right: The most important personal details (PIIs) of the case — e.g., first name, last name, reference number, client
You can copy the displayed data directly (click the copy button next to the value). Use the Edit button to adjust the case data. Click Show all to display all available fields.
Where you left off
When you open a case again, amaise brings you back to where you were: the same view, the last document you were reading, your dashboard, or your case history. Filters and searches inside the case always start cleared, so you begin with a tidy view.
A few simple rules:
Your page comes back too, as long as you were in the middle of the document. A document you finished reading opens at page 1 again.
Right after the case opens, a short message tells you that you are back where you were and offers Start fresh — use it to put the case back to its default view. Pressed it by mistake? The message that follows offers Undo, which puts your place back.
If you have not opened the case for over a week, it opens on your workspace's default view again. What you were reading still comes back once you are in that view.
A link someone shares with you always shows exactly what the link points to, never your own last position — and the link you copy from a case shows others what you are looking at.
Which panels are open is not remembered: every view starts with its own standard panels.
Clicking a view's icon in the left navigation bar again resets that view: filters, search and selection start over. What amaise remembers for your next visit stays untouched; only Start fresh clears that.
